Exactly what I would've wanted in a sheet music book based on the actual recordings. All of the notes are there (some tracks switch off and on) and this will definitely be fun to jam out with another cellist with reasonable skill.Some parts (particularly in Thunderstruck - only two measures off the top of my head) are an octave lower than the actual recording, which in my opinion is harder than playing it in the original octave. If you know how to transcribe octaves in your head well this will not be a problem!It's important to take breaks from classical music, and this is a great way to do that!
The arrangements are nicely done and very playable. However, the quality of the writing is inconsistent.What I mean by that is that instead of switching clefs or using 8va signs, some arrangements (not all) stay into bass clef even though you're playing well into the tenor or treble clef range (C5 and D5, for example) for an extended period of time.For a book that requires you to read all 3 clefs, they don't use them as much as they should.
I ordered this for the song, "My Heart Will Go On" after hearing 2Cellos rendition on Amazon Music Unlimited. Although I am what I call a "perpetual adult beginner" cellist, I am able to play some of the music in this book. It's really cool to hear the music come through my own cello. With my Amazon Echo, I can recall the song many times as I play through it. Nice!
