Tremendous amount of information, small text. It is a master's level book, but I had to buy the "loose-leaf" book to get the full measure of the book...missing a very important chapter 14, on portfolio analysis. Got the Kindle version so I could read anywhere, but was very tiresome because of the print and the way it is laid out. Before you purchase this for your class, look at all the versions you can buy. Make sure the version you buy has everything in it you need. I would not recommend either the (rice-paper thin) loose-leaf version or the Kindle, and if I had to do it all over again I would get the paper back or hardback version. This book has a web site that compliments it. The problems in the book do not give you solutions, not even for half the problems, and keeps you relying on your professor for a semester. And you need the information in this book later on the job...so you need to refer back to it...
Finishing class now this book is not very good providing examples in the learning sections compared to what is expected in the problem and exercise sections you will need supplemental texts for assistance with those problems in the back I really struggled until getting the supplemental. The fifth edition has similar problems and you can get the answer guide for that one which then helps provide the guidnace for the problems lacking in the learning section.

This is a badly written book with errors everywhere. Plus, the pages rip easily.
